BABSLPRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The BABSL is a unidirectional radial shaft seal for rotating or swivelling shafts with protective lip sealing effect on the side facing away from the medium against external contamination. The shorter, thicker, spring-assisted sealing lip allows pressure of up to 10 bar (depending on speed) to be applied. The elastomer outer jacket allows a good static seal and offers a good balance of thermal expansion, for example in alloy housings. It also provides better sealing with greater roughness, reliable sealing for split housings, and good static sealing for thin liquid or gaseous media.

Other designs, such as other types of steel for the tension spring or the stiffening ring, can be manufactured as well as some special designs. For dimensions outside the standard, it may be necessary to require minimum purchase quantities.

The BABSL is a single-acting shaft seal for rotating or swivelling shafts with optional protective lip seal (WASY) on the side facing away from the medium to prevent dirt accumulation from the outside. The shorter, thicker, spring-loaded sealing lip allows pressurization of up to 10 bar (depending on the speed). The elastomer outer jacket offers a good static seal, good thermal expansion balance, e.g. in light metal housings, better sealing with greater roughness and secure sealing with split housings, as well as a good static seal with thin liquid or gaseous media.

The nominal sizes mentioned on the following pages are the standard dimensions. They are usually available in stock or at short notice. Other dimensions and different designs, such as springs or metal inserts made of other types of steel, can be made as well as some custom-made products. Minimum quantities may be mandatory for measurements outside the standard.
