exact item shown, NOS (new old stock) - I removed the staple from the package, powered it up and verified it works, it comes without a battery, just connect a standard 9V battery - I also left the battery door slightly ajar to make it easier for you to hook up the new battery, it was a bit tricky to get it open, but a battery will last a very long time, so you won't need to do that much.
