We acquired a pretty cool collection of ammonites, numerous polished and cut stones, natural mineral specimens and other similar things quite awhile back at an estate sale.  We set everything aside in several large boxes and more or less forgot we got the collection.  We will be listing things over the coming days, so it you're into collecting this stuff or making jewelry and other items out of them, feel free to check our store inventory as we add items.

Now onto the item for sale.

For sale is a great looking and large black ammonite from Madagascar.

Black ammonites are rarer than ones that are the typical brown/tan colors.

As you can see, this ammonite has several calcite chambers.  It has been split and polished and would make a great display piece.

This split ammonite weighs 1240 grams and measures 193mm/7 9/16" across.

This ammonite weighed more than our small scale can weigh.  Our larger scale only weighs in increments of 5 when we weigh something in grams.  Because of that, the actual weight may vary be a few grams one way or the other.

This ammonite weighs 2 3/4 pounds and will weigh more than 3 pounds when packed for shipping.  It be shipped in a cardboard box via FULLY insured, at no extra cost to the buyer.  We offer several shipping options, just make your selection at checkout.
