PiezoBarrel® 'Wood' Pickup and 4 meter cable with brass neck adapters to solder onto Bassoon Bocal
Note - only the pickup (microphone), cable and adapters with blocking screws for bocal are supplied.  Bocals are shown are only used to show how the supplied adapters may be installed.  Bocals are not included.

The PiezoBarrel® 'Wood' is a professional pickup that can be used with bassoon to provide high quality natural sound and to drive guitar effect units for live performance using effects.

This pickup comes with a brass adapters to fit 9mm or 10mm bocal diameters.  For installation, the supplied adapter is soldered onto the bocal and then a small hole (2 mm diameter) has to be drilled into the bore of the bocal in order to pick up the sound.

  • 4m long 3.5mm to 6.3mm shielded cable to plug in to standard 6.3mm (1/4 inch) line or instrument socket.
  • Small Phillips screwdriver to adjust output level if required.
  • Blocking screws with O rings
  • Spare Brass threaded adapters supplied to attach pickup to bocal - there are sufficient adapters to fit up to 4 bocals.  Adapters are supplied to fit bocal diameters of both 9mm and 10mm as the bocal diameter varies between 9mm and 10mm depending on where the adapter is installed.

  • Low feedback.  As the pickup is built in to the instrument, external sounds have very little impact on the output signal.  This makes the pickup particularly desirable for live performance.

  • Reproduces the natural sound of the instrument.

NOTE: Some countries (including the US, UK, and countries in the EU) charge import duty and/or other taxes on imports, paying these costs is the responsibility of the buyer.   As of August 29, 2025, duties and taxes will be collected by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) before goods enter the country.  Currently PiezoBarrel has enabled a shipping option for US customers  using using Interparcel/UPS as Australia Post has currently suspended parcel deliveries to the US.  UPS will collect the US Tariffs and any other related charges from the recipient.  If tariffs are not paid, parcels will be returned to the sender at an additional cost to the sender resulting in an order refund minus shipping costs.
