Sculpture of a naked young woman representing Andromeda. it is made after the example of the Andromeda by Joseph Félon (1818–1896). The sculpture is signed with Félon and no. 541. Made by the Paridon brothers at the beginning of the 20th century. It is made of a reinforced type of plaster, the so-called Paridur, and decorated with gold and green. This decoration gives a bronze-like effect. The statue is 37 cm high.

Around 1905 the brothers Pieter (1876), Peter (1885) and Hendrik Van Paridon (1887) opened a studio in the Rozenstraat in the Jordaan. The brothers worked together with sculptors such as Jan Verdonk from Den Bosch, who designed statues in Toorop style. Many classic statues were made, often by antique example. After 1920 the Paridons mainly made Christian religious figures and stopped with classical and modern art. This statue was therefore manufactured before 1920.
