Closely woven natural jute hessian fabric which is widely applied for a range of uses including crafts, backing for notice boards, weddings, covers for tables, decoration in marquees, used in florists, Christmas crafts, horticulture/gardening, upholstery, frost protection for mortar/brickwork and protecting plants/trees. This great value material is a natural and biodegradable fabric spun from the jute plant and is popular in schools,nurseries, workplaces etc on display boards. 

A little bit about jute........Jute is an eco-friendly sustainable strong bast fibre that has many uses. It has insulating and anti-static properties and is a breathable material. It is made from natural cellulose fibres so is biodegradable. To grow jute minimal fertilisers and pesticides are required and the plant is renewable.

This 10oz quality woven hessian is cut from a roll but will be supplied folded and flat packed. Note - 50m lengths are normally provided on a roll. As jute/hessian is a natural fibre that is woven there may some slight inconsistency in the colour and weave. This is a woven product and although it has a tight weave there are small gaps and therefore it will be porous, therefore it is not waterproof. 

Please be aware that the coloured hessian is dyed and if washing the colours may run. We suggest washing in a cold wash. If washing coloured hessian it will create a slightly faded, used, rustic look.
