Tiki Caliente 14 limited edition tiki mug #197 of 250, featuring Don Blanding and a "Lei Day 1927" theme.
Don Blanding was a famous American poet of the 1920s and 1930s whose works contributed to the popular romantic views of Hawaii and "the South Seas" as dreamy paradises.
This mug is a tribute to his influence in popularizing the ideas that led many Americans to wish for or make trips of their own to those places both before and after WWII, and eventually influenced the Polynesian Pop "Tiki" fads of the 1950s and 1960s.
Sculpted by Doug Horne and produced by Eekum Bookum, this mug was made in the USA exclusively for attendees of Tiki Caliente 14 at The Caliente Tropics motel in Palm Springs, California in April 2023.
New in box and never used. Holds approximately 16oz. Comes with original hang tag as shown.
