Stove Rope or Heat Resistant Adhesive Options
Sealing around the door and glass of a stove is essential in preventing a woodburner or multi-fuel stove from drawing too much air into the fire box which can lead to over-firing and/or blackening of the glass and should be replaced annually. Rope seals can also be applied to connections between flue pipes if necessary, to reduce any loss of pressure in the system.
Rope - First select your chosen diameter and length of rope from the dropdown menu.
Basic instructions: Shake bottle before opening. Your Rope Adhesive will be a thin consistency, and this is to be expected. Remove the door from the stove and place on a flat surface. Place the new rope into the groove in the door without stretching or bunching, apply the adhesive into the channel and then place the stove rope on top. Clamp the rope into place with tape or pegs (for example) for a full 24 hours to allow the adhesive to cure sufficiently before securing the door back onto the stove.
Please note, this product features a soft-weave, is fibrous and may differ from the stated diameter when relaxed or pulled taught.
