In the summer of 1968, Louis topped the UK charts with 'What a Wonderful World,' surpassing The Beatles. This album was recorded on July 2, 1968, at the BBC. From 'All Miss' to 'Hello, Dolly!', 'Mack the Knife', and 'What a Wonderful World', his iconic songs are featured. This recording became a definitive collection in Satchmo's musical career.
Upon receiving a copy of this recording, Louis was determined to share this music with the world, playing the tape for every visitor to his home. He attached a note labeled 'FOR THE FANS' on the tape's box.
The booklet includes liner notes by Ricky Riccardi, Louis Armstrong's biographer and Director of Research Collections at the Louis Armstrong House Museum.
