A beautiful antique Takaoka Doki 高岡銅器 okimono of Ebisu on a custom-made fruitwood pedestal. The okimono is a solid bronze statue cast with superb design and skill, bringing the God of Luck to life with a lively playful character. Ebisu is known as the patron of seafaring and wealth and is one of the Seven Lucky Gods Shichifukujin 七福神. The carp in his hand symbolizes abundance and the staples of life. Takaoka-shi 高岡市 bronzes date back to the Edo period and are renowned for their technical mastery. Takaoka Doki is considered the best among Japan's copper and bronze production.
