What is the Speedcross 4?
The Salomon Speedcross has firmly established itself as the definitive trail running shoe; providing outstanding grip, control and comfort.
What are the Speedcross' made of?
Upper: The uppers are made from a lightweight synthetic material that has minimal water uptake keeping the shoe light and quick drying even when it’s horrendous underfoot. Breathability is maintained with a mesh construction over the foot that allows air to circulate and also lets any water drain away quickly, be under no illusion that these shoes are in any way waterproof. To ensure your foot is held securely in the shoe, especially when traversing slippery slopes, Salomon have developed the external Sensifit and Quicklace systems. These two systems work in tandem to clamp your foot in place without uncomfortable lace pressure. Excess lace tucks neatly away into the tongue pocket so they won’t snag and come loose.
Footbed: The OUTlines use an Ortholite footbed. Ortholite footbeds are great at moisture management. The unique open-cell structure of OrthoLite insoles creates a moisture management system, helping to move moisture away from the foot to provide a cooler, drier, healthier shoe environment and help to keep your feet comfortable all day.
Midsole: Whilst the Speedcross is designed primarily as a trail running shoe it will cope with short sections of hardpack thanks to the moulded EVA Light Weight Muscle Chassis and internal cushioning.
Outsole: The Speedcrosss' use Contagrip mud and snow which is non-marking and, as the name suggests, provides excellent grip in muddy and snowy conditions.
