Hand stitched, counted cross stitch art made by a Norfolk/Virginia Beach. Professionally framed, with glass and a hanging cord. Frame is of simple, stapled and shaped black wood, sealed at the back, 6.5 x 10.5 with built-in hanging wire attached.

The design features the two Cape Henry lighthouses, with their unique, immediately recognizable designs. Around the base of the lighthouses is a symbolic representation of shrubbery, surf, and sand dune. Shore birds fly overhead. Beneath the image are the words, in needle work: "Cape Henry Lighthouses, Va."  and "Jean '84." Jean (O'Neal), from Tidewater Virginia was an accomplished needlework artist, particularly cross stitch. The design and stitch work are intricate and well executed.

The art work itself is in excellent condition with no fading, damage, or marks. Has been protected under glass since its creation. The frame is in good condition with very slight scuffing. On the back are handwritten descriptions of the lighthouses, "Constructed - 1792 - Back. Front - 1881. Cape Henry.
