Since the publication of her first volume of verse, Quest, which was Volume 21 of the Yale Series of Younger Poets, Eleanor Slater has made steady progress in the world of poetry. Her work has appeared in Voices, The Catholic World, The The Literary Digest, The Lyric, The Christian Century, and elsewhere. Educated at the University of Rochester and at Radcliffe College, Miss Slater has divided her time between kollege teaching and social service.
The latter has given her some interesting contacts, both vocational and avocational, with Mexicans in the Southwest, coal miners in the Tennessee mountains, refugees from central Europe, and a wide variety of racial groups, in Boston and Philadelphia.
