Beautiful antique late19th/early 20th century Italian framed hand-painted oval porcelain plaque after Raphael Sanzio, Italian (1483-1520) depicting Sistine Madonna, also called the Madonna di San Sisto. The painting was commissioned in 1512 by Pope Julius II for the church of San Sisto, Piacenza, and probably executed c. 1513–1514. The back of the plaque is printed in black with a fleur-de lys mark above Firenze, and sits in a gilt Italian rococo style easel frame. Frame measures 9" long x 7 1/4" wide x 2 1/4" deep, plaque measures 3 1/4" x 2 3/4". Plaque is in Excellent condition free of nicks, fleabites or wear, the frame has a repair to the top and gilt wear commensurate with age, please see all photos.
