-All of my mini quartz movements require about a 3/8" (9mm) hole going through the dial for the shaft of the movement to go through.

Which dial/face does your clock have?
-For dials up to 1/8" thick you need a 5/16" threaded shaft which has an overall length of 9/16"
-For dials up to 1/4" thick you need a 7/16" threaded shaft which has an overall length of 11/16"
-For dials up to 3/8" thick you need a 9/16" threaded shaft which has an overall length of 13/16"
For dials up to 1/2" thick you need a 11/16" threaded shaft which has an overall length of 15/16"
