OUR PRICE FOR THIS POSTER IS $189    Here we are offering a rarely seen Cuban historical poster saluting 61 men who died during (or in the aftermath of) the July 26 1953, Fidel Castro-led attack on the Cuban government's Moncada military barracks in Santiago de Cuba. Although the attack failed, it marked the beginning of Castro's campaign to overthrow the government of Fulgencio Batista to install a revolutionary government. Castro survived the attack and was eventually imprisoned. His revolution triumphed in 1959 and today Cuba remains the Western Hemisphere's only one-party communist state.

The poster we are offering -- MARTIRES del 26 de julio 1953 (MARTYRS of July 26, 1953) -- contains 61 black and white photos, as well as the names, of the men who died during (or in the aftermath of) the Moncada barracks attack.

The poster measures approximately 23 1/2 by 17 inches (43 by 60 cm). The poster is not dated. We believe the MARTIRES del 26 de julio 1953 poster was originally made in the 1960s and reprinted over the past two decades. The poster we are offering likely comes from the later edition, printed after the year 2000.

Overall condition of this poster is good. Please buy with 100 percent confidence: all posters purchased from the Cuban Poster Gallery on eBay can be returned for any reason within 30 days.
