I have always loved the Iris and Herringbone pattern and today I am offering a great piece of this pattern!  This is the 11 inch straight-edge bowl, which is not easy-to-find.  Normally, 99 out of 100 times, you will find a ruffled edge bowl in this pattern.  It is only occasionally when you will stumble upon a straight-edge bowl.  This 11 inch bowl is listed as a fruit bowl in the great book "Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression Glass" by Gene & Cathy Florence (16th edition, copyright 2004).  It is believed that many of these straight-edge bowls were made into lamps and thus they are not so easy to locate today.  The Jeannette Glass Company of Jeannette, Pennsylvania began manufacturing this lovely pattern in 1928 and continued through 1932.  Some additional pieces were made in the 1950's and later in the 1970's.  The great thing about this bowl is that it has not been reproduced (to my knowledge).  Therefore, it is an original piece to the late 1920's / early 1930's.  This bowl was once listed for $60.00 but Depression Glass prices have softened over the years and you can now get it for a much better price.  This particular bowl measures 11 5/16 inches across and stands about 3 1/4 inches tall.  The condition is EXCELLENT with no chips, no cracks, and no discoloration.  Amazing original bowl!!  Please see all of the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase.  You will be delighted with this unusual piece of Iris!!
