Description
Legends Brass is excited to bring back these legendary gems of the mouthpiece world. Rudy Muck mouthpieces are famous for their Cushion Rim, which was billed as “the most comfortable feature of any mouthpiece in the field”! These are brand new mouthpieces manufactured from scans of vintage Rudy Muck mouthpieces. All of the rims and cups are identical to the original vintage pieces, with Legends Brass backbores as noted below.
*Please note that Rudy Muck measured the inside rim diameter at the high point of the rim, while Legends Brass measures at the inner curve of the rim. This makes the original measurements much larger than ours.
12S
The Legends RM 12S is based on a vintage Rudy Mück 12S. It has an inside rim diameter of 0.635″ and a shallow to medium shallow V-bowl cup. The throat is a standard #27, and the backbore is a Legends S. The rim on the 12S is considered “semi-cushion”, which is slightly less round than the “full cushion” rim, but still “permits great circulation of the blood while providing a comfortable pressure area for the lips.” This mouthpiece is a tribute to the master craftmanship of Rudy Muck, and as the brochure says, “A Rudy Mück cushion-rim mouthpiece on your own instrument will show you why ‘something just as good’ is unacceptable.”

The Legends RM 13C is based on a vintage Rudy Mück 13C. The legendary cushion rim developed by Rudy Muck was described in the marketing brochure at the time as the “most comfortable feature of any mouthpiece in the field today!” The Legends RM 13C has an inside rim diameter of 0.640″ and a medium shallow V-bowl shaped cup. The throat is a standard #27, and the backbore is a Legends S. This mouthpiece is a tribute to the master craftmanship of Rudy Muck. The size of the inside rim diameter and the shape and depth of the cup make this piece good for upper register playing. And, as the brochure says, with the cushion rim, “Pressure marks and the hinderance of perfect blood circulation are an impossibility.”

16S
The Legends RM 16S was inpired by a vintage Rudy Muck Cushion Rim 16S. The original brochure from 1937 describes the legendary cushion rim as “the most comfortable feature of any mouthpiece in the field today”. It helps relieve pressure, prevents hinderance of blood circulation in the lips, and keeps the lips from slipping, even when wet. Over 75 years later, this is still one of the most comfortable rims available.
Along with the cushion rim, the Legends RM 16S has a bowl shaped cup and the Legends enhanced throat. It has been fitted with our tightest backbore, the Manhattan, which has great focus and nice resistance. This backbore is specifically geared for extended performances and all night gigs, with the bright projection needed for Mariachi and other upper register, technical playing. This mouthpiece is a masterpiece of comfort and playability!

The Legends RM 17C is based on a vintage Rudy Mück 17C. Possibly the most popular of the Rudy Mück models, it has the “full cushion rim” with a medium shallow bowl shaped cup and an inside rim diameter of .650″ (as measured by Legends Brass). The original brochure from 1937 describes the Rudy Muck cushion rim as “the most comfortable feature of any mouthpiece in the field today. It helps relieve pressure, prevents hinderance of blood circulation in the lips, and keeps the lips from slipping, even when wet.” The shallow bowl cup paired with the extra comfortable rim give a boost to the upper register and extend endurance. This mouthpiece is a tribute to the master craftmanship of Rudy Muck, enabling splendid attack in all registers, and clear rounded tones without effort, just as originally intended!

shipped within 24 hours of receipt of payment. Legends Brass ships via USPS Priority Mail. Ebay handles international shipping and determines those charges. Most orders will be shipped
in a USPS small flat rate box. All tariff and customs charges are the buyer's
responsibility. Payment by Paypal is preferred for CONUS and is
required
for international shipping. Payment must be received immediately, and
orders can only be shipped to confirmed Paypal addresses.
Return
Policy
This item can be
returned. The item must be in new condition (no exceptions). The
buyer must pay return shipping plus a 20% restocking fee. Return
shipping must be by USPS Priority or USPS International Priority
Mail. You will receive a refund (price paid for the item minus
restocking fee) within 48 hours of delivery of the returned item, if
the item is confirmed to be in satisfactory condition. Insertion
