Offered for sale is a stunning and elegant bowl in the "Caprice" pattern of Elegant Depression Glass.  This HUGE BOWL measures 12.75 incbes across and stands about 4 inches tall ( or a tad bit taller).  I identified this pattern in the excellent reference book "Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era" by Cathy & Gene Florence (13th edition, copyright 2009).  This is probably the largest bowl in this pattern that you will find.  There is a 15" salad bowl listed in the pattern but - quite frankly - I have never seen it and I've been dealing in this glassware over 3 decades!!  The Cambridge Glass Company of Cambridge, Ohio manufactured this pattern from the 1940's through 1957.  The highlights of this bowl are :  (1)  the beautiful blue color, which the company called "Moonlight Blue", (2) the huge size which makes this bowl perfect for serving or simply decoration as a statement piece, (3) the scalloped edge, (4) the flared sides which give it a bigger appearance, and (5) the fact that this is Elegant Depresssion Glass, which was sold in better department stores and jewelry stores during the 1930's - 1950's.  This bowl really has everything going for it - no negatives!!  In terms of condition, there are no chips, no cracks, no discoloration, and no damage.  There are a few scratches here and there on the bowl but nothing that indicates overuse.  This is really an outstanding piece of glass!!  Please see all of the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase.  You will not be sorry!!
