The CALRAB cool classic collectible characters were manufactured from 1987-89 by APPLAUSE and made in China. This CALIFORNIA RAISIN figure is in EXCELLENT overall condition. This CALRAB promotional "Claymation Character" is ready to display and would be a great addition to any ADVERTISING FIGURE collection.
The animated CALIFORNIA RAISINS were first introduced by CALRAB (California Raisins Advisory Board) in a 30 second "Heard it Through the Grapevine" commercial on Sept 14, 1986 to promote the sale of Sun-Maid Raisins. These cute characters instantly became a huge success. Mass merchandise which included T-shirts, toys, bed sheets, shoes, lunch boxes, Halloween costumes, books, records and much more became very popular to collect. Many of these iconic RAISIN PVC TOY FIGURES were sold and also distributed with HARDEE'S Kid Meals and POST Raisin Bran cereal.
