-                    Vintage Silver Woven Metal Handbag w/ Lucite Top & Handle

          From the era when "box" style handbags were so popular comes this great version

featuring silver metal slats woven over and under gold metal rope style strips.

          All of the sides are made this way.  The bottom is solid gold tone metal.

          The lid is made of clear lucite as well as the curved handle attached with gold hardware.

          The hinged lucite lid has a click open closure.

           The inside is lined on the sides and bottom with gold satin fabric.  There is a name imprinted on the fabric but it has faded and can't be read.

           The handbag measures 8 1/2" x 4 5/8" at the top and narrows down to 7 7/8" x 4 1/8" at the bottom.

            It is 4" deep.

            Very nice condition with no damage noted... maybe a few slight scratches but no chips or cracks.

            Smoke-free home.

          This is a great vintage  handbag which may have been made with a "Jewel Tone" kit.

          These kits allowed  ladies to complete their own 1950-60s bag in the style of Enid Collins.

          The bag is made brown slubby linen sides with a wooden bottom.

          The front has a beautiful design of  an owl adorned with gold and clear "jewels".

          There is black leather (?)  trim and double handles.

          The closure is a center fold-over flap with brass turn lock.

          The inside has a leather zipper pocket with open pocket on top.

          The 13" x 11" x 3 3/4" bag is in good structural condition.

          The linen and interior are both in very nice condition.

          There is also wear noted on the brass hardware .

          Noticed there are a few small jewels missing.

          Still a nice addition to any vintage purse collection!
