Quilting

Quilting sewing needles (aka Betweens Needles) are very short and fine with a round eye. Traditionally, used by tailors and professional sewers, but nowadays commonly used for quilting. The diameter of the needle is the same as a Sharps Needle, except that they are shorter in length, which allows the quilter to create quick and even stitching.
Sharps

Sharps are mostly commonly used for hand sewing. They have a sharp point and are medium in length (compared to short Quilting Needles). Sharps have a rounded eye, usually large enough to accommodate thread. Size 1 is the longest and thickest, and size 10 is the smallest and thinnest.
Tapestry

Tapestry Needles (aka Cross Stitch Needles) are a must have for every crafter and sewer. The rounded blunt tip enables the sewing needle to pass and slip between fabrics and yarns without splitting or tearing the fibres. Use them with wool, embroidery soft cotton and stranded cotton, on Single Point Canvas, Double Point Canvas, Aida and open mesh fabric.
Trapunto Needles
(3 Needles)
Trapunto needles are used in the very specialist art form of Trapunto Needlework, Italian Quilting and 3D stitching projects. This needlework creates a 3D effect using the same colour thread as the background fabric and therefore gives a sophisticated tone on tone look. This kit includes 3 hand sewing needles, all with large eyes for easy threading of even the heaviest of gauge wools. The long, ball pointed sewing needle is ideal for stuffing while the smaller, sharp pointed needles are intended for surface stitching and decorative work.
Curved Tapestry Needles
(2 Needles which include 1x Size 16 and 1x 18)
Curved Tapestry needles start off as a straight needle and are curved during the final manufacturing process. They are particularly useful for box making.
