For sale is a single piece of fulgurite taken at random from the lot shown in the photos above. The piece you will receive will measure between 3cm and 5cm.

Fulgurites are little tubes of glass that are formed when lightning strikes sand. It takes about a second to form and cool, with the temperature of the lightning fusing the quartz of the sand at around 1800 degrees celsius. They can be pretty long, up to five metres, but are fragile and usually are broken when retrieved from the sand. These specimens were recovered from the deserts in Algeria in 2022.
