David Tate once lived in Oxfordshire.  Here, he shard many memorable occasions, with the locals, in this small thatched public house at Ickford, a sleepy village nestling under the leafy Chiltern Hills.  The Rising Sun is timber framed, infilled with a chalk and clay mixture, known as "wichert".
