Propagating your plants from seeds is the most rewarding way to grow plants :) All seeds are non GMO (have no genetic modification).
Dahlia:
Sowing time : February to April to start them iondoors, May to plant out
Soil & Position : Fertile - Free draining soil & Full sun position
These can be any colour (but not blue), they are not modified to be certain colours, mother nature will surprise you :)
Dahlias are delight to grow from seeds, they flower up in their 1st season, usually this is the norm only for annual plants, lasting just 1 year.
Sisyrinchium Striatum - Yellow Eyed Grass (type of Iris):
Sowing time : anytime, but best February to April
Soil & Position : well drained soil, full sun
Also I have mine in a border that doesn't get much sun, yet they flower up beautifully and reliably in the same time as I can see in neighbourhood in sunny positions.
Helenium:
Sowing time : February to April
Soil & Position : Full sun in moist, well drained soil
Our heleniums (pictured) are already emerging from the ground to regrow (writing on 25th February 2024 ). The flowers last the whole summer untill quite late autumn. They are most beautiful, joyful perennials you can grow :)
