This charming sugar and creamer set features a delightful hedgehog pattern, handcrafted by artist Betsy Vaden of Chapel Hill, NC.The set includes a creamer and sugar bowl, both made of high-quality ceramic. Adorable depictions of 2 darling hedgehogs with red birds percha upon their backs. Each measure approximately 5” x 5”. The lid of the sugar has a repaired red bird otherwise the set is perfect.
Betsy Vaden is a ceramic artist and potter living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She is a member of the Red Clay Co-op,
Orange County Artists Guild and the ClayWorks Guild. Using a variety of techniques — including wheel-throwing, hand-building and sculpting, often combining them — she creates representational work that is imaginative and unique. She uses mostly stoneware and porcelain clays, which she fires in a variety of ways.
Betsy is represented by FRANK Gallery in Chapel Hill, The Garage Gallery in Charlotte, and The Clay Centre in Carrboro. Her work has also been shown at the Greenhill Center (formerly Green Hill Center for NC Art) in Greensboro, the Tin Roof Gallery in Highlands, NC, The Nature Art Gallery in Raleigh, and at various juried and invitational shows.
Each November Betsy's work can be seen at her studio during the annual Orange County Artists Guild Open Studio Tour.
