This is a reproduction print from a vintage sheet music cover entitled "Old Abe" The Battle Eagle. It says across the top: "Inscribed to the 8th Wisconsin Reg" and on the bottom: "Old Abe the Battle Eagle when history is well known throughout the North West was carried by the Eighth Wisconsin Regiment in all their battles, and was equally exposed with them during their three years service. He now belongs to and is supported by the State in quarters fitted up for him in the State House Park at Madison."
