Arbutus unedo, also known as the strawberry tree, is an evergreen tree that offers both edible and medicinal uses.

Its fruits, though sweet yet somewhat insipid, can be eaten raw or cooked and are suitable for making jams and preserves. 

The tree's leaves, bark, and root possess astringent and diuretic properties, making them useful for treating urinary system issues like cystitis and urethritis, as well as diarrhea and dysentery. 

Additionally, the plant exhibits antibiotic activity against Mycobacterium bacteria. 

While it is not extensively used in herbalism, its potential merits further investigation.
