Mid-century large sculpture of a young foal. Hand carved in olive wood. Signed underneath with the artists name, André POIRSON (1920-2003). Made around 1970-1980. André Poirson was a self-taught artist, best known for his sculptures. One of his best-known achievements is the decoration of the Amphion-les-Bains chapel, Haute-Savoie, where he composed an altarpiece in five polychrome wooden panels 10 m long. His works have been exhibited in Thonon, Annecy, Evian with a retrospective in Talloires in 2007 and in the United States. Height 43 cm, length 37 cm.

Condition: Good condition, with one ear chipped and age related cracks in the wood, some cracks filled
