CHARLES SCHNEIDER - le verre Français

rare 1923-1930 French art deco night lamp in wrought iron with a nice Schneider (Le Verre Français) shade in orange-red and yellow colored cameo glass. This model is called Spirales (the Spirals). Schneider made the first design around 1923-1926 and made vases table lamps and chandeliers with this pattern. I show a picture of a spirales vase in the book on Schneider by Joulin and Maier.

The beautiful shade is held by the original Schneider fixture in wrought iron. Schneider employed a blacksmith and had his own forge on his compound in Epinay France. Here wrought iron mounts for vases were made as well as fixtures for nightlamps perfume burners and chandeliers. The typical shape of the Schneider forged iron pieces is easy to recognize.

The night lamp has a height of 14,6 cm and it is 16 cm in diameter (5,75 inches high and 6,3" wide). The lamp is in excellent condition. Two tiny and insignificant chips on the rim where the glass meets the iron. The shade is signed le verre Français. The iron mount has a nice ebony colored patina. It is rewired with an American candelabra base socket base socket and US 2-prong plug.

I'm temporarily unable to ship packages to the USA. Because US customs haven't properly processed the new tariffs, most European shipping companies, including Dutch Post, have temporarily suspended shipping to the USA.
