These are by far the best and lightest hubs available, DT Swiss is synonymous with performance and quality. With the latest iteration of the 180 it’s clear that DT Swiss have not strayed from their reputation. Featuring the Ratchet EXP system, this truly innovative internal design offers lightning fast full engagement, industry leading reliability, and a shockingly lightweight 185g design. In order to make this happen DT Swiss took their already top of the line Ratchet system back to the drawing board and redesigned it to be better in every way. The new design takes the no-tool design to the next level and makes maintenance and end cap conversions dead simple. The Ratchet EXP system combines the ratchet and threaded ring together which reduces the overall number of components. This increases the durability of the EXP design, drops the number of springs down to one, and reduces the overall weight of the system. The Ratchet EXP system also lasts longer than comparable pawl designs because of the engagement design. When the whole ratchet engages it creates small point loads which keeps unnecessary pressure off of the hub internals while still providing lightning fast engagement.

The DT 180 EXP features SINC Ceramic buttery smooth bearings which offer incredibly low rolling resistance, world class longevity, and durability. DT Swiss has optimized their engagement technology to be as efficient as possible, for the 180 EXP DT Swiss has equipped it with a 36T ratchet. This gives the 180 EXP a rapid 10 degree engagement angle, however, if you prefer a faster engagement then you can also easily upgrade to a 54T (6.7 degree engagement angle) ratchet. Boost spacing makes this compatible with most modern cross country and trail bikes. Centerlock rotors are easy to install and remove while the 28h design keeps the weight low. Simply put, this is the ultimate hub if you’re replacing your current hubs or building up the ultimate cross country or trail wheelset.
