CLOTHING/ACCESSORIES Play line doll clothing can sometimes come straight from the packaging with creasing, fading, marks, snags, pinholes, fraying, runs, stripe or print misalignment, adhesive residue from double sided tape used to hold clothing to the body, or sewing errors.
Vinyl and plastic accessories such as shoes, purses and jewelry may have scratches, painting errors including paint misplacement or loss, sticker or printing misalignment, molding defects or other factory imperfections.
Shoes and bags may have bent heels, handles or straps. Creasing from factory applied elastic bands or plastic tags used to hold shoes on the feet may be present.
BOXED DOLLS Play line dolls can sometimes come straight from the packaging with imperfections on ACCESSORIES and CLOTHING as listed above, plus any of the following body flaws- pinholes in head from plastic stays; painting or screening errors including paint loss or pixelation; plastic anomalies including molding defects or unmatched seams; skin tone color variations; marks or color bleeding/dye transfer from dark clothing onto plastic or vinyl; flyaway, flattened or mussed hair; pressure marks/indentations in flocking or flocking loss; pressure marks/indentations in plastic or vinyl from packaging/stays/bands used to hold doll in place; body scratches or other factory imperfections. Some facial or body imperfections may appear more prominent on darker skin tones.
Imperfections on boxed dolls may not be apparent until the doll is unboxed and undressed.
BOXED DOLLS also frequently present with packaging imperfections such as shelf wear, dog-earing or bent corners and edges. Clear outer plastic may show dents, cracks, scratches, smudges or fogging of the plastic.

The Doll Story Store auctions or Buy It Now listings are composed of descriptive titles and text that we write ourselves without the use of AI. Aside from the occasional auto-generated stock photo from eBay, the images we use are photos that we take ourselves. All text written by us as well as all photos taken by us are to be considered solely the intellectual property of the_doll_story.
We do not grant permission to any company, retailer or private seller to use any part of our listings, including images and text.
Accounts found using our images without permission or copying our descriptions, titles or any part of our listings will be reported.
We strive to provide descriptive titles that clearly explain the item in the listing. Our descriptions contain the most pertinent information about our items, so please read through the Doll Story + details and the Fine Print thoroughly and carefully.
We enjoy doll photography and try to present to our buyers a series of images that are the best representation of the item(s) for sale.
We often showcase our items in eye-catching displays and use a variety of backgrounds, photography sets, prop items such as doll furniture and a variety of dollhouse scenes in our photos. Like retail stores, our doll clothing is frequently displayed using prop items such as doll bodies, mannequins or doll stands.
Unless expressly stated in the listing, please understand that any and all mannequins or doll bodies used for display, additional clothing or accessories, furniture, props, dollhouses, backgrounds or photography sets are strictly for demonstration and photo enhancement only and will NOT be included with purchase.
Messages to ask if prop items are included will not be answered.
BUY IT NOW/OFFERS
All of our items are priced according to current market value. We sell solely through purchases (Buy It Now) just as brick and mortar retail establishments do. Our prices are firm and we do not accept Best Offers on any of our items at this time.
We do not conduct business using off-site mailing or messaging services or through eBay messages.
While we are always happy to discuss our dolls via eBay messages, inquiries sent with the sole purpose of asking to break up lots or with offers will go unanswered.
PURCHASING
In accordance with eBay rules, your purchase is a legal binding contract with the seller. Please do not enter into a contract with our store unless you intend to honor it.
Your purchase signifies an understanding and acceptance of our store policies.
CANCELLATION
We reserve the right to refuse cancellation requests on transactions or invoices that have been paid. Once an item is paid for and reaches the order fulfillment stage, cancellation is no longer an option. The buyer will need to wait to receive the item(s) before starting a return.
RETURNS
Your happiness with items purchased from The Doll Story is very important to us, and as such we offer free returns on domestic shipments. Returns can be facilitated via the automated eBay Returns process. Links to item returns can be found within the Purchases tab in My eBay. We do not charge restocking fees.
We will happily accept items returned for refund if the item is sent in the same condition as when we sent it to the buyer. It is neither our policy to offer partial refunds, nor will we allow buyers to request a refund and keep the item. Once a return has been mailed back to us and has been inspected to ensure that it has been received in good, pre-shipment condition we will be happy to issue a refund.
We reserve the right to block any buyer for abuse of our cancellation or returns policy, such as cancellations on multiple items, excessive returns or repeated returns of oversized or heavy items.
SHIPPING
Items are packed with the utmost care either carefully cushioned with bubble wrap, air filled packs or a combination thereof. Items will generally be sent in a bubble mailer or with air packs in a sturdy box for the item's protection and for buyer peace of mind. Please check each individual listing for packaging details specific to the item for sale. We recycle and often reuse shipping boxes and/or packing materials when possible.
We offer both free economy shipping and free returns. We exclusively use the United States Postal Service (USPS) for domestic shipping and eBay Global Shipping services for international shipping, as they are the most convenient to our rural location. We do not work with other shipping services. Our expedited shipping fees are calculated according to daily post office rates and never include any upcharges such as handling fees.
We ship quickly with a 1-BUSINESS-day handling time for the fastest turnaround from purchase to item receipt.
Delivery date estimates quoted at the time of purchase are not always accurate and should not be construed as a guaranteed date of receipt. eBay estimates for shipping time are based on a Monday-Friday 5 day business week model. Weekends and holidays are not counted as business days. There may be adjustments to your original delivery estimate at any time during the shipment process.
Due to budgetary constraints, our local post office is open for very limited hours on Saturdays. In order to provide the best quality service we ask that all purchases on Fridays be made by 8 pm CST if Saturday shipping is expected. Items purchased after that time are shipped over the weekend and will not generally arrive at the post office until Monday afternoon. USPS tracking numbers for purchases made over the weekend may not be updated until Monday evening or Tuesday morning.
Tracking can be delayed at any time during the period while packages are in-transit. Factors outside of our control such as weather, natural disaster, processing errors, package misdirection or seasonal mailings may delay package arrival. We do not claim responsibility for those circumstances or for lost or stolen mail. Please check the USPS website for current information regarding alerts and advisories that could affect delivery dates before purchasing if time is of the essence. Please also contact USPS directly with your tracking number regarding filing a claim for any lost or stolen mail.
For domestic shipments (Ground Advantage), items are generally delivered in 2-5 days but please be aware that it can sometimes take up to 10-14 days for your items to arrive. Expedited domestic shipping (Priority Mail) typically arrives in 2-3 days but can vary depending on the final destination of the package.
International shipping time varies. While eBay Global Shipping is usually very efficient, please note that there can be significant delays at customs. Tracking will not be updated for items in the possession of customs until the process is complete. International shipments can sometimes take 8 weeks or more to arrive. Please plan purchases accordingly.
