In memory of the late, great Roberto Clemente (1934-1972).

Baseball Hall of Fame star Roberto Clemente was much more than an incredible athlete. His humanitarian work and philanthropy knew no bounds. He simply wanted to help people in need. On New Years Eve, 1972, he died in a plane crash while en route to deliver aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. Clemente was posthumously presented three civilian awards of the United States Government from the President of the United States including the first Presidential Citizens Medal, The Roberto Clemente Walker Congressional Gold Medal and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
