Original Johannes Blaeu Map Westriging of Yorkshire 1645-1667 From Atlas Maior

Here we have an original Johannes Blaeu copper engraved and hand colored map with eight family coats of arms (including three blank shields). It is titled: "Ducatus Eboracensis Pars Occidentalis; the Westriding of Yorke Shire". The size is: 17 1/2" by  22" , the frame measures 19" by 23 1/2". The map is in good condition with some discoloration but the colors are still bold. It is from Atlas Maior, Sive Cosmographia Blaviana, Qua Solum, Salum, Coelum, Accuratissime Describuntur. Amsterdam, J. Blaeu, 1662-65. (Van der Krogt 2, 601-3) as can be seen on the back. It is presented in an old double glass frame. Please Note: We would be happy to remove it from the frame for shipping. This would save the buyer most of the posted shipping cost. Please let us know after the auction.

 

Shipping weight, well packed, is 10  lbs. Insurance has been added to the shipping cost as per Ebay's mandate.
