faux ivory scrimshaw material.
Cuts, sands, works well for scrimshaw work. Legal and ethical substitute for ivory. No animals are harmed. The same material used for making piano keys. Very durable and inexpensive.
Great for learning how to scrimshaw or as an art work in its own right.
I tried working on old piano keys, dominos, and even tried wooly mammoth tusk (very expensive). Then I had these 2.5” squares made up. I like it as well or better than the real thing. They 1/8th inches thick.
