This
large, vintage, jointed Cupid is
adorable! It is
in relatively good condition, considering how long I have had it!
I laminated this decoration for durability! I used this wall decoration, in my kindergarten classroom, during the month of February. It does have some creases and staple marks, and there are some areas that are discolored on the back, due to left over tape marks before the item was laminated. There are
also 2 subtle lines running down the cheek on one side.
I believe that these may have originally been on this decoration when I purchased it, unless they happened during the lamination process. The
most notable issues are with the arrow.
As it is a thin piece, it bent in 4 places. I reinforced all of the creases with transparent tape. I also adhered a popsicle stick, behind the main part of the arrow, with transparent tape, to make it stronger. I have enclosed closeup photos of these issues. This
item is clean and comes from a smoke free home.
This item was made by Hallmark Cards, Inc. and has a production date of 1979. This decoration measures approximately 26" x 17.5". This Cupid has jointed arms and legs in 2 places (shoulders/elbows, thighs/knees). He has long-lashed, blue-eyes, and open mouth with red tongue showing, and curly light brown hair. He is dressed in red and the feathers can be seen on his white wings. Cupid's quiver is a shade lighter than his outfit. His brown, wooden bow has a red heart-shaped arrow, a red arrow rest, and red feather fletching. The string of the bow is made of a thin piece of red, satin ribbon.
This item is rare and difficult to find! I have not seen any others currently selling online.
This jointed Cupid would make a wonderful addition to a classroom, office, or household to be displayed around Valentine's Day! I am hoping to find it a good home.
