This
vintage, jointed snowman decoration is
adorable!
I laminated it for durability, so the one jointed arm can no longer be moved. I displayed this in my kindergarten classroom, during the month of January. This
item is clean and comes from a smoke free home.
This decoration is
in good condition, considering how long I have had it! There are
a couple of creases on one arm, and one foot has several creases. There is
a tack mark on the jointed arm and one up at the top. There are
also a few staple marks. The
back of the decoration also has some discoloration from when I used masking tape to adhere it to the wall (This was prior to the item being laminated). I have
enclosed closeup photos of all of these issues.
Through my research, I found out that this decoration was made by Eureka. Though I have no date on it, I do know that it is a vintage item, as I have had it for quite some time. The die cut measures 18" x 11.5".
This decoration features a smiling snowman with black eyes/nose/buttons and rosy pink cheeks. He is wearing a scarf with green, white, and red stripes and red fringe. His hat has a blue rim that is trimmed with a green leaf (that looks like holly) and a stemmed cherry. On the top of the beanie hat is a design of red and green triangles that are outlined in white. Between 2 bands of this, there is a blue band, with white dots, that is outlined in white. Nestled down in the brim of the hat is a cute, fuzzy, brown mouse. With a smile on his face, he is quite cozy and snoozing. There is also a cute brown-eyed baby bird on the snowman's shoulder. He is white, brown, and yellow with a yellow beak. His head and chest are black.
This is quite a versatile die cut. As the snowman's outfit consists of mostly red, green, and white, it can be used for Christmas. But, because there are really no other indications of Christmas, it could also be used as a winter decoration. It could be put up in December and then left up during the months of January and February.
This die cut would make a wonderful decoration to be displayed in a classroom, office, or household from December through February! I am hoping to find it a good home.
