Titled "Vibrations, Series # 4", this US Air Force Recruiting Service boxed set contains two 12-inch 33 RPM radio transcription LP's, each side containing a 15-minute radio spot or "program" made up of a mix of music, interviews and USAF recruitment announcements. The records are numbered 71413 and 71414 respectively, and the labels specify an air date of November 1972.
The four programs feature the music of the following artists:
Program # 1 -- Don McLean
Program # 2 -- Jimmy Castor
Program # 3 -- Argent (the interviewee is Rod Argent, formerly of the Zombies)
Program # 4 -- Al Green
The records are a little dusty, but look to be in about VG+ or better condition, still beautifully shiny, and with very little visible surface wear. I've played all four sides on my Audio-Technica turntable, and there were no skips or jumps, and not a lot of audible background noise, but some scattered clicks and pops and ticking. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering technology and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well they will play on your equipment.
The box itself is in used and worn condition, with the edges worn, the corners split, and the sides bent in or splayed out, typical of being squeezed or flattened. There is also an ink inscription on the bottom. Also included are two plain white inner sleeves and the 12" x 12" foam pad that it was found with.
