Photograph Notes: This residential Old People's Home was built in 1975 and dedicated to The Rev Cartlidge, the local parish priest. He was a driving force behind the international volunteer labour scheme that, in the late nineteen-thirties, cleared the enormous slag heap, The Charlton Mound, that was on this site.
