Beautiful black and white print from an original drawing by Matthew Clark featuring the original Snell Hall and Italian Garden from the campus of Western Kentucky University (WKU) in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Perry Snell Hall was named after Commodore Perry Snell of St. Petersburg, FL a former student of Ogden College. The building was built in 1924 and dedicated November 19, 1924 the architect was Brinton B. Davis. The building was razed in October 2005 and replaced with a new construction. The Italian Garden was added in 1929 through a donation by Mr. Snell and was designed by Henry Wright. The original Italian Garden featured "The Four Seasons" a group of Florentine statues procured in Italy by Mr. Snell. The statues were removed in 2000 for restoration and are now located in Van Meter Hall.
