Iomega packed these in boxes labeled ‘Remanufactured’ but we don’t think that’s true/correct. We opened 6 of these (for our own personal use) and found that ALL 6 appear to be 100% brand new. It’s not uncommon for companies in USA to mark select merchandise as ‘Refurbished’ or ‘Remanufactured’ even though it’s actually brand new & never been touched by an end user. This way companies are able to market/distribute a greater volume of product (at discounted prices) without upsetting the market, namely those buyers who paid full retail price.
