This listing is for a unique Queen Elizabeth Debossed Letter of Acceptance To Washington DC International Horse Race dated 1954 as pictured. The pictures are part of the description, what you see is what you get. Since we are not experts in authenticating this listing by any means, please inspect the pictures and be the judge.

The notation at the bottom is small print reads: "HISTORY MAKING DOCUMENT - The above acceptance by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of England to race Landau, her three-year colt, in the Washington D.C. International Horse race at Laurel Race Course on November 3 [1954], marks the first time in racing history that the silks of the Royal Family will appear in America. The document is signed for Queen Elizabeth by Capt. Charles Moore, her racing manager. It was addressed to John D. Schapiro, president of Laurel and originator of the event, and was mailed from Buckingham Palace, London, England. This acceptance on the part of Queen Elizabeth, ruling monarch of the vast British Empire, clearly indicates the lofty position which the Washington D.C. International now holds among the prominent owners and breeders of thoroughbreds throughout the world."
