This is a very rare stunning Anime collector Vintage ~10TH ANNIVERSARY LITHOGRAPH~: "SILENT MOBIUS" THE BEAUTY OF RESISTANCE - 1991-2001. Includes the Authentic Certificate of Authenticity. Certificate of Authenticity states the following: This hereby certifies that you have purchased one of the 333 limited edition Silent Mobius "Beauty of Resistance" lithographs. Excellent quality lithograph, exactly as shown, with 12 high resolution zoom-in photos at every angle to judge. ULTRA LOW Collector number > #39 of only 333 produced >(as shown in pics#3 & 4)!! This print was created exclusively to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the publication of the English language version of Kia Asamiya's popular manga series with official seal under wording. Also, has Publisher, Fanboy Entertainment, C.B Cebulski signature also on certificate. Japanese theatrical art at it's finest! This piece has a significant value in the anime art world. This classic piece is ready to be professionally framed by the discriminate collector or left the way it is and add to your collection of Silent Mobius / Anime items. Authentic receival label on rear as well (pic#6,7). This piece will indeed continue to go up in substantial value over the years and of course, value increases immediately once framed... This was purchased at a estate sale and the **surrounding cardboard protector** does have some edge wear / creases as to be expected due to age... and outside cellophane wear, along with a "snag line" tare on outside cellophane **ONLY**, about 9 inches long (as shown pics#11,12 -look by the small line starting on the side beneath the boot heel of bottom anime female character , directly down under the letter A in Japan, then rising up to top of next girl above, and to the top of the white bow in her hair" (similar to a minor pantyhose snag...). To be really honest at eye level distance, barely noticeable, but never "the less there... The great news is the *Actual Lithograph* does not appear to be harmed in absolutely any way, (perfect for framing or shadowboxing), as we carefully studied the item with a light and microscope before listing, as we do all our items for any issues prevalent at hand.!!
Measurements: Size of item including cardboard is 23" long by 15" width. Actual lithograph only, without COA included is 17" long by 11" width. The COA size is 6 1/2" long and 3 1/2" width.
Brief Wikipedia Synopsis:
Silent Möbius (Japanese: サイレントメビウス Hepburn: Sairento Mebiusu?) is a twelve-volume manga series created by manga artist Kia Asamiya. Both anime versions have been licensed by Bandai Entertainment. It is heavily influenced by the film Blade Runner and is centered on the lives of a dedicated group of all-female police officers with protecting Tokyo from an invasion of extra-dimensional creatures called Lucifer Hawks.
The series has been adapted into animation twice, once as a pair of films and again as a 26 episode television series.
A new manga series started in 2013 which serves as a sequel to the original series.
Story
In 1999, Gigelf Liqueur, aided by the Magician's Guild, set into motion a plan to open a gate between Earth and the world of Nemesis. The intent was to exchange Earth's polluted air and water with clean air and water from Nemesis. To aid in this endeavor, a huge cyclotron was built under Tokyo. Unfortunately for all involved, Ganossa Maximilian—Gigelf's old apprentice—sabotaged the plan, opening the gate early and perverting the gate for his own means. Following this event, Gigelf and the Magician's Guild battled an invasion of Lucifer Hawk (the name for the inhabitants of Nemesis) for a number of years. Gigelf was killed in 2006 and it would seem that the rest of the Guild met similar fates over the next few years.
In 2023, Rally Cheyenne, daughter of Guild member Lufa Cheyenne and born of mixed heritage (her father was from Nemesis), felt partially responsible for the growing attacks on innocent humans by marauding creatures from Nemesis. She started the organization with a mere three officers (Kiddy Phenil, Lebia Maverick and Nami Yamigumo) and a sub-commander (Mana Isozaki). Over the next few years, she added Yuki Saiko, Katsumi Liqueur and Lum Cheng to the team, aiding in the fight to protect Earth from the vicious Lucifer Hawk.
Manga
The manga series started in 1989 and was published in the magazine "Comic Dragon". It ended in 1999 after 12 volumes. In 2013, Asamiya began a new Silent Mobius series which takes place 17 years after the original story.
It is published in English by Udon Entertainment; previously it was published in English by Viz Media.
