Chilean Epazote
Latin Name: Chenopodium chilense
Chilean epazote is a perennial or short-lived perennial
spice and herb from South America. It grows to a height of 80-120 cm. Due to
its strong aroma, it is also consumed as a leafy vegetable, spice and herbal
tea. Rawly reminiscent of the flavors of oregano, anise or fennel. In Chilean
and Argentinian cuisine it is traditionally used for foods made from beans as
it reduces gas production when consumed.
