The jubilee coin is dedicated to Ivan Pavlovych PULIUI (another spelling - Pulyui) (1845-1918),
an inventor and physicist, who discovered the peculiar properties of the cathode rays, later on
rediscovered by Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen and named after him, before the latter.
Ivan Puliui was the author of nearly 50 research and popular-science works on physics and electrical engineering written in Ukrainian, German and English. In addition, he was proficient in ancient languages and left a large heritage in the area; together with P.Kulish and I.Nechui-Levytskyi he participated
