This is an absolutely stunning large size antique Victorian - Belle Epoque Shell Cameo Brooch Pin with a high relief carving of a neoclassical woman with a lyre instrument. 

The cameo is of extraordinary beauty and is set in an elegant setting in 14 Karat Gold.  The cameo is the work of a master artisan.  The woman is beautifully carved with very high three dimensional relief and delicate details.  The maiden's hair is extraordinary as is the wreath of Laurel Leaves in her hair.   Her face is exquisite.  The lyre is beautiful and wonderfully framed by the drape of her tunic. 

The cameo is set in a beautiful braided setting in 14 Karat Gold.  The cameo brooch could be easily converted to a pendant if desired. 

Cameo jewels are all the rage today and this is one of the most beautiful carved gems we have seen.  The maiden musician is a delicate romantic jewel of the utmost beauty and style.  The cameo brooch dates to circa 1860-1900.

The brooch is 2 inches (52mm) tall and is 1 3/4 inches (44mm) wide.
The brooch is 14 Karat Gold.  
The brooch weighs 15.6 grams.
