Japanese Thread Collection "Colours of Nature"

A wonderful assortment of Vintage coloured Japanese threads,

There are twelve different shades, each wooden bobbin has 12 metres of thread on it, so you get a total of 144 metres.

 A carefully curated collection which I have called  "Colours of Nature".  Beautiful natural shades, with a mixture of round threads and flat threads, metallic threads and silk threads, I really enjoyed putting this collection together.

These threads were bought from traditional Japanese weaving workshops which have closed.  The flat threads were often used in weaving Obi's and Cloth of a Gold, and traditional Japanese Embroidery,but they can also be couched down and used in many other ways.

The lovely little wooden bobbins measure 27 mm x 16 mm,  and can hold plenty of thread without developing kinks.  They are presented in a strong black box, 220 mm x 67 mm and make a lovely gift.
