This multi-skill, primary level, math activity set, with a Valentine's Day theme, is adorable!  It is brand new and in excellent condition I laminated the pieces for durability, and so that the pages that needed to be written on could be used with a fine-tip dry erase marker and then wiped clean with a tissue or cloth, so they could be reused!  This set is from a smoke free home.

I received this set at an elementary school, Math inservice for teachers.  It consists of 7 different activities that all measure 8.5" x 11".  Three of the sheets were originally just black and white, so I colored images in, with colored pencils, to make them more inviting to children.  I also colored in a couple of the images on one of the other exercises.  One sheet had an incorrect word on it.  To remedy this, I placed a piece of white correction tape, with the proper word, over it.  Another page had a word cut off in the directions, so I simply finished it with an ultra fine-tip permanent marker.  I have enclosed closeup photos of these errors after they were fixed.  One of the activities was a game, to which I added a metal spinner, a die, and 2 plastic tokens.

This set includes exercises that focus on the following skills: basic subtraction facts to 10, basic subtraction facts to 20, dividing up and coloring a portion of an image to represent a given fraction (1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/6), determining whether an image has been divided up into equal parts, drawing a line of symmetry through images, identifying images that are symmetrical and those that aren't, problem solving (completing a maze), drawing the hands on a clock to show time on the half hour, quarter past the hour, and 5 minute increments, subtracting 2 double-digit numbers without regrouping, adding 2 prices that involve double-digit numbers with and without regrouping, adding a triple-digit number and a double-digit number without carrying, subtracting a double-digit/triple-digit number from a triple-digit number without regrouping, adding 2 triple-digit numbers without carrying, and identifying numbers that are 1 more/1 less/10 more/10 less that a given 2-digit number.

One sheet has 3 different exercises.  This page has a place for children to print their name up at the top.  The top part of the sheet focuses on fractions and has 2 parts to it Underneath that is an exercise on symmetry.  Then, at the very bottom, is a maze.  The first portion of the top exercise is illustrated with white-iced heart cookies that are decorated with red and pink sprinkles, and red candy hearts.  Each cookie has a simple fraction underneath it.  Directions are to the left of the cookies and ask children to partition and shade the cookies to match the fractions.  One cookies has already been completed for children.  It has a pencil next to it.  The other exercise, in the top portion of the sheet, is enclosed in a box and has directions above it.  This exercise has 4 cute, illustrated valentine cards, with text, in the shape of hearts and rectangles.  Surrounding the cards are groups of red, pink, and purple hearts in different sizes.  Each card has been divided up into 2 or 4 parts.  Children have to color in a section of a card if it has been divided up into equal parts.  The exercise in the middle of the page is illustrated with 9 valentine items (a pink-iced cookie decorated with various sprinkles, a piece of chocolate decorated with various sprinkles, a chocolate cupcake with pink icing and a cherry on top, a red heart-shaped sucker with a pink heart in the center, a purple "x" and red "o", a red ladybug with purple hearts, a pink iced donut with red candy heart decorations, a pink envelope with a red heart image on it) Directions are up above the group of images and ask children to draw a line of symmetry through the images that are symmetrical and put an "x" on those that aren't.  The first image has a pencil next to it and has already been completed for children.  And, the last exercise on the page is a maze that is filled with red hearts.  "Start" and "End" are printed in bold, black, capital letters.  Next to "Start" is an image of a blond-haired Cupid, wearing red, with a purple quiver of arrows with red heart tips.  Next to "End" is a green frog with a red heart on his chest.  Children have to help Cupid make his way to the frog.

Another exercise is illustrated with a blond-haired boy, wearing jeans and a yellow shirt with a long-sleeved blue shirt over it.  He is sitting on the steps, outside of the school building, and has a yellow envelope sealed with a red heart sticker.  An arrow is extending from him to another image of a girl with long brown hair, as children have to help the boy get to the girl in this exercise.  The girl is wearing a black long-sleeved shirt with a pattern of light blue hearts and a red heart in the middle Her light blue leggings have a pattern of outlined hearts on them, and her her blue skirt, with yellow polka dots, has a red waistband that matches the heart on her sweater.  In her hand, she holds a red envelope with yellow hearts on it.  flying bluebird across from the upper portion of a red-haired Cupid with a red quiver and arrow with red heart-shaped tip and pink end.  Both images have a light blue background of sky.  This page has a place for children to print their name at the top.  Below the name is a large box with a lilac border.  At the top of the box are directions.  Below the directions is a grid with images in 2 of the 4 corners and 2 other boxes.  The rest of the boxes have horizontal subtraction equations in them.  The boy is in the upper left-hand corner, and the girl is in the lower right-hand corner.  Another square contains an image of a red heart, and another has a pair of silver and gold heart-shaped charms.  The rest of the squares on the gird contain the following types of subtraction problems without answers: facts to 10, facts to 20.  On this sheet, children have to help the boy get to the girl by first solving all of the problems and then coloring all of the boxes that have a difference of 5 or 7, to create a path.  Once children have completed this exercise, there is a box that they can check at the very bottom of the page.

Another exercise is titled "Subtract Your Way to a Valentine Joke!" in red and has a pink border around it.  Below the title are directions.  Then, there 10 vertical subtraction problems that are numbered in red.  The problems focus on the skill of subtracting 2 double-digit numbers without regrouping.  This page is illustrated with a light blue and gray elephant with 3 red hearts above his trunk.  To the left of the elephant is a "Number Key", that is outlined in red, with a white title of capital letters in a red rectangular box.  The key has a heading of "Answer" and "Letter".  Below the headings are answers to the problems and a letter to which they are to be converted.  Underneath the elephant and the "Number Key" is a riddle that relates to the image.  Under that are numbers with lines above them.  Children have to solve the 10 subtraction problems and then use the "Number Key", to fill in the blanks above the numbers, in order to solve the answer to the riddle.

Another exercise, where children solve problems and then use a code to answer a riddle, is illustrated, in the upper right-hand corner, with a yellow-eyed owl dressed in a valentine winter outfit of pink mittens and scarf with magenta polka dots and purple hat with pink ball on top.  The scarf has magenta and purple trim and the hat has a band of pink and red horizontal stripes.  This page has a solid black border with an inside border of black dashes.  In each corner is a series of tiny black dots.  There is a place for children to print their name up at the top Below that are directions.  Underneath that are boxes labeled with the capital letters, "A-Z".  Each box has a horizontal addition or subtraction problem with a blank for recording the sum/difference.  The problems focus on the following: adding a triple and double-digit number without carrying, adding 2 triple-digit numbers without carrying, subtracting a double-digit number from a triple-digit number without regrouping, and subtracting a triple-digit number from another triple-digit number without regrouping.  Below the problems, there is a riddle in bold black text.  Underneath the riddle are answers to the problems with blanks above them.  Children have to solve the problems and then use the letters in the boxes, that correlate with the answers, to solve the code, in order to answer the riddle.

Another exercise has a light and dark pink striped background and is titled "Mental Math" in white.  It is illustrated with 2 different valentine robots, with several parts made of hearts.  Below the tile is a light pink grid with purple headings at the top and purple, 2-digit numbers on the left side.  The headings at the top include the following: "1 more", "1 less", "10 more", and "10 less".  Here, children have to fill out the grid by recording the number that is 1 more, 1 less, 10 more, and 10 less than a given number.

The sheet titled "Cupid's Day at School!", in gray text, is an exercise on telling time to 5-minute intervals.  Below the title are directions.  This page is illustrated, in the upper left-hand corner, with a square valentine card with lace trim.  It has an image of a blond-haired Cupid, with a quiver of arrows, a bow in one hand, and a purple heart with pink lace trim in the other.  Below him is "Love", in pink letters, with red hearts around it.  This page is set up with 6 boxes.  Each box has a sentence in it about Cupid and his school schedule.  One sentence has an image of a red heart-shaped balloon and a pink balloon, to the left of it  Across from each sentence is an analog clock, with a valentine-colored rim, but without hands.  On this page, children have to read each sentence, which includes a time, and draw the minute and hour hand, on the clock, in the correct position.

The last activity is a game with the title of "Love Bug's Money Hop" in bold black text.  Below the title are directions.  This game is for 2 players.  The board is labeled with both "Start" and "Finish", in bold black letters, and comes with a built-in spinner, a die, and 2 plastic tokens.  The spinner is pink, and sectioned off into 4 parts, with 2-digit prices that end in either "5" or "0".  The path on the board has red, magenta, pink, and white hearts.  The red, magenta, and pink hearts have prices in them in bold black numbers.  Prices range from 5 cents to 95 cents.  All prices are numbers that end in either "0" or "5".  In the white hearts are an image of a cute green love bug, with red heart-shaped antennas, who is holding a red heart-shaped balloon and a regular pink balloon.  To set up this game, children chose a game token and place it on "Start".  They might also have access to a pencil and piece of paper, in case they are unable to add 2 double-digit numbers in their head.  Solving problems includes adding double-digit numbers both with and without carrying.  To play, children take turns rolling the die and moving that many spaces.  They then spin the spinner and add that amount of money to the amount that was landed on.  If a player lands on a love bug, he/she gets an extra turn!  The first player to reach "Finish" is the winner!

This set would make a wonderful addition to a household with children in grades 1-2 to be used around Valentine's Day!  I am hoping to find it a good home.
