This addition facts to 20 activity set, with a Valentine's Day theme, is adorable! It is brand new and in excellent condition! I laminated the materials, so they could be used with a fine-tip dry erase marker and then wiped clean with a cloth or tissue, so they could be reused! This set comes from a smoke free home.
I received this set at a Title I, after school, math workshop for teachers when I was teaching 1st grade. It consists of 12 numbered cards that measure 10.125" x 2.5" and a recording sheet that measures 8.5" x 11". I did color in the lace trim, on the hearts, with colored pencils.
The task cards have a pink border around them and are numbered in the upper left-hand corner. Each has a number sentence with a missing sum that is to be written in a white heart with red lace trim. The "+" and "=" are white and enclosed in red circles. The 2 addends are in written in white on one of the following images: a red or dark pink head of a rose with 2 green leaves, a red heart with pink lace, a dark pink gift box with red ribbon and bow, a pink gift box with dark pink ribbon and bow, or a pink heart with dark pink lace.
The "Valentine's Day Addition Facts" recording sheet has a title in black. Below that are directions and a place for children to print their name. This page has an image of a white heart, with red lace, in the upper left-hand corner. This page is set up with 12 numbered rectangular boxes. Each box has an equation in it with a black bold "+" and "=", 2 empty boxes for the addends, and a white heart with red lace for the sum.
To use this set, children select a task card and fill in the answer. Then, they find the number of the card, on the recording sheet, that correlates to that particular problem and fill in the addends and the sum. Children continue the above process until they have completed the entire recording sheet.
This set could be used by either an individual child or a group of children. If used with a group, additional copies of the recording sheet would simply need to be made.
This set would make a wonderful addition to a 1st grade classroom to be used during Math Centers around Valentine's Day! It would also be great to have in a household with young children! I am hoping to find this set a good home.
