Substantial rectangular metal plate featuring a Chinese paper-currency design in the style of Da Ming Tong Xing Bao Chao, commonly translated as “Great Ming circulating treasure note.”

The face displays raised Chinese inscriptions, two central coin-stack illustrations, decorative vertical panels, and an elaborate scrolling border. Its layout differs from the five-bundle designs found on the other plates in this collection.

The metal has a bronze-like appearance, although its composition has not been tested. Brown, reddish and green surface coloration accompanies uneven texture and areas of obscured detail.

Condition: Surface wear, oxidation/corrosion, discoloration and encrustation throughout. Portions of the lettering and decorative border are softened or obscured. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition.
